Somalia Vows Stronger China Cooperation
In a statement from Mogadishu, Somali Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali emphasized the enduring relationship between the two nations. "Somalia cherishes its long-standing friendship with China, anchored in mutual respect and shared aspirations, guided by a spirit of cooperation and understanding, reinforced by solidarity and partnership, and committed to promoting the common good of our two peoples," he said.
China’s National Day, observed annually on October 1, commemorates the 1949 founding of the People's Republic of China.
Minister Ali noted that Somalia is eager to enhance collaboration with Beijing, particularly in advancing shared initiatives and deepening strategic ties. He added that both governments are united in efforts to foster peace, development, and prosperity for their citizens.
The renewed diplomatic affirmation underscores a broader push by both sides to strengthen joint efforts amid evolving global dynamics.
